The world is undergoing an industrial revolution fueled by biotechnology.

The world is undergoing an industrial revolution fueled by biotechnology.

About the Bioeconomy Seminar Series

Overview

Materials, medicines, minerals, food, and fuels will increasingly be produced sustainably by biological organisms in the coming century. This transition—driven by the convergence of genetic engineering, robotics, and AI—will decrease our dependence on fossil fuels, reduce pollution of our waters and air, and preserve the biodiversity of our natural environment. This seminar series presents opportunities and challenges associated with this industrial revolution, incorporating speakers from academia, industry, and government, who will cover topics in scientific discovery, commercialization, and policy.
